Mar-Bal’s Annual Day of Action at WomenSafe, Inc.

Chardon, OH (June 7, 2019) — As part of Mar-Bal’s community initiative, a group of interns, friends, family and members of our Corporate Office in Chagrin Falls, Ohio gathered their tools, donned their gloves and workwear to spend the day landscaping at WomenSafe, Inc.

Each year, Mar-Bal contributes to our surrounding communities in which we live at each of our locations and offices through various activities, events and a specific day of service which we call our Day of Action.

Annually, Mar-Bal sets aside a day to leave the office in order to spread mulch, trim bushes, pull weeds and any additional landscape work at WomenSafe to show our appreciation for such an important member of the community.

This year, after the work was completed, we were able to learn more about WomenSafe’s continuing mission, impact and future goals for the remainder of 2019 and beyond.

WomenSafe, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit domestic violence shelter and resource center that is dedicated to the service of domestic violence survivors. WomenSafe was founded in 1980 by a group of citizens who were concerned about local women and their children who were living in violent homes. WomenSafe’s mission is to provide emergency shelter and support services for survivors of domestic violence throughout Northeastern Ohio. WomenSafe responds to the needs of victims experiencing domestic violence and provides education in the community aimed at reducing the incidence of domestic violence and making the community aware of what help is available.
