Colleague Focus – Dean Maron
Meet one of our newer colleagues, Dean Maron, Quality Control Manager at our Painesville, Ohio facility. Touching on his favorite parts about Mar-Bal, Dean first lists his co-workers and the challenges they face, followed by the company’s growth trajectory and the ability to advance within Mar-Bal. When speaking about his proudest moment at Mar-Bal to date, Dean reflects on the inception and execution of a plan by our quality team in which they worked collaboratively throughout, “They didn’t hesitate to help the new guy”.
In the constant pursuit of education, after studying at Kent State University, Dean also attended Lakeland Community College in addition to completing multiple training courses specific to his role with Mar-Bal. He is also certified as a lead auditor for ISO:9001 and currently near completion of a BA in Business. Building on his knowledge base, Dean has used his position to increase his proficiency throughout the plant, “Mar-Bal has allowed me to use skills outside the typical role of a quality manager which is expanding my skillsets and strengthening my overall abilities as a manager”.
Outside of his duties at our Painesville plant, Dean combines his roles as a family man and mentor, spending his time coaching his sons, daughters and their teammates, “I spend most of my time when I am not at work coaching fastpitch softball. I have coached baseball and football for my sons and I have coached softball for my oldest and youngest daughters. I am a fastpitch hitting and pitching instructor as well”. Dean is quick to praise his wife for her love and support, stating she can always be found with a smile on her face and is always there for her family. Further emphasizing Dean’s love for his family, is his brief but concise answer about his favorite spot to vacation – “Anywhere my family is with me”. He does go on to say that more specifically he and his family enjoy the beach and mentions Bermuda, Hawaii and the Outer Banks as some of his favorite destinations.
