The Cleveland Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers Visits Painesville
PAINSVILLE, OH – FEBRUARY 11, 2019 – This February, The Cleveland Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) visited Mar-Bal’s Painesville location to tour the newly renovated facility which opened its doors in August 2018. The new production site boasts nearly twice the space of Mar-Bal’s Chagrin Falls plant and is also home to Mar-Bal’s compounding unit.
“The Cleveland Section of SPE would like to thank Mar-Bal for the plant tour and their hospitality,” said Craig Potter, SPE Cleveland communications chair. “Very impressive facility considering the automation, cleanliness and breadth of products produced.”
The Cleveland section of SPE was founded in 1943, the third section to be formed in the United States. Today, they represent nearly 275 plastics professionals across the Greater Cleveland area. The objective of the organization is to promote scientific, engineering and business knowledge related to the plastics industry in Northeast Ohio.
“We’d like to thank Mar-Bal for their continuing support of the Cleveland Section. It means a lot to us. [We] hope to see you at one of our other programs in the future,” said Potter.
Mar-Bal has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with SPE and currently, Ron Poff, Industry Director and Director of Global Marketing for Mar-Bal serves on the SPE Thermosets Division board.
SPE is represented in 84 countries with over 22,500 members. The organization provides events and community for plastic engineers. In addition, the ambition of SPE is to help companies succeed by strengthening their skills through networking, training and knowledge sharing.
