Mar-Bal Announces Leadership Appointment

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH–(September 27, 2012) – Mar-Bal, Inc., a Chagrin Falls, Ohio-based leader in the thermoset composite industry and innovative solutions provider, has named a new Director of Operations, Vince Profeta. In this newly created role, Mr. Profeta will be responsible for all manufacturing, operations and plant support activities. He will also drive operational excellence and program launch implementations through the use of innovative tools, techniques and talented people. The announcement was made by Scott Balogh, President and CEO of Mar-Bal, Inc. He will report to Balogh.

Mar-Bal, Inc. Executive Named to Board of Directors for the SPE Thermoset Division

Chagrin Falls, OH (March 21, 2012) – The Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) Thermoset Division recently selected Kevin Casey, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Mar-Bal, Inc., to join its volunteer Board of Directors. Casey will serve a three-year term through January 2015.
The Society of Plastics Engineers is home to nearly 20,000 plastics professionals in more than 70 countries around the world. SPE is the “go to” resource for plastics technical information. The SPE Thermoset Division is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of thermosetting materials, processes, machinery and applied uses. The Division’s annual Topical Conference (TOPCON) brings together experts representing a wide variety of thermoset related vocations.

Mar-Bal, Inc. expands Standoff Insulator Product Line, 7.2KV Insulator

CHAGRIN FALLS, OH–(January 4, 2012) – Mar-Bal, Inc., a Chagrin Falls, Ohio-based leader in the thermoset composites industry and an innovative solutions provider, today announced an expansion of our proprietary STANDOFF INSULATOR product line with the introduction of an additional size within our series of Medium KV Insulators. The NEW 4.5” height round shaped Insulator, part # 6450, is rated for 7200-Volt applications, is UL Listed and is ready for production orders.

Mar-Bal, Inc. Executive Named to Board of Directors for the American Composites Manufacturers Association

Chagrin Falls, OH (December 19, 2011) – The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) recently selected Steven Balogh, Vice-President of Mar-Bal, Inc., to join its volunteer Board of Directors. Balogh will serve a three-year term through July 2014.
ACMA, the world’s largest trade group representing the composites industry, represents 850 of approximately 3,000 composites manufacturers and suppliers to the industry. In the U.S. alone, the composites industry employs about 550,000 people and generates almost $70 billion in revenues per year. ACMA provides strong, proactive leadership in technical, government and regulatory affairs.

From design and formulation to compounding, molding and finishing, Mar-Bal is a privately-held manufacturing company with 350 employees producing state-of-the-art products across four facilities in North America. Over the last few years, Mar-Bal had been experiencing challenges in its day-to-day operations. Mar-Bal’s customized (AS400-based) ERP software was outdated, preventing the necessary increase in manufacturing activity required to keep Mar-Bal competitive in today’s global economy. As each year passed, it became more expensive to operate the old ERP system due to the specialized support required to maintain and upgrade it.
