Fifteen new players are expected to join the team at thermoset plastics compounder and molder Mar-Bal Inc., as the company seems to have hit a home run with its investment in new technology for adding a PVD finish to products made with thermoset plastics.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) today announced the acceptance of four Virginia companies into its two-year Virginia Leaders in Export Trade (VALET) program. Launched in January 2002, the program assists exporters in the Commonwealth that have firmly established domestic operations and are committed to international exporting as an expansion strategy.

The new companies accepted into the program include Alliance Industrial Corporation of the City of Lynchburg; Innovative Wireless Technology, Inc. of Bedford County; Mar-Bal, Inc. of Pulaski County; and Vaughan Bassett Furniture Company of the City of Galax.

CUBA, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon today announced the award of $67,606 in Enhanced Enterprise Zone (EEZ) tax credits to a Cuba, Mo., company that manufactures a wide range of components for the appliance industry. The EEZ incentives will assist Mar-Bal Inc. in significantly expanding its local production facilities in a $1.4 million capital investment that will create 15 new area jobs. The Governor made the announcement today at Mar-Bal’s manufacturing facility in Cuba.

Mar-Bal, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of thermoset custom molded parts and molding compounds for electrical distribution, industrial automation control devices as well as products for the appliance and transportation industries. Mar-Bal’s manufacturing capabilities include compression, injection and transfer molding that utilizes their own UL recognized, fire resistant and heat resistant thermosetting materials. Mar-Bal’s products can be found in Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, Poland and Taiwan.

With the improvement of the economy over the past year and strategic plans to grow new business, US companies continue evaluating export markets, particularly China, to capitalize on the needs to supply product to that country’s growing infrastructure.
