Colleague Focus – Meet Scott Shive

This edition of our Colleague Focus is centered on Scott Shive.

Scott has been with Mar-Bal for 20 years and is the Tooling Manager at our Dublin, VA location. During Scott’s time with Mar-Bal he has been able to receive an AAS degree in Machine Technology as well as a journeyman card as a mold maker.

One of Scott’s proudest moments was when he took over the Tool Room and Maintenance Manager position. “I am also very proud of all the work done integrating CNC equipment and tooling in the finishing department,” Scott shared.

Having been with Mar-Bal for 20 years, we wanted to learn what Scott likes most about working for the company. “My favorite part is that, over the years, I have been able to get involved in just about every area of plant operations,” Scott said.

What does Scott do when he is off the clock? He shared that he enjoys watching car shows and working on cars. “[I enjoy] taking our cars to car shows and hanging out with friends,” Scott explained. “We plan on driving through and visiting all 50 states.”

Scott shared that he looks up to several different people. “I look up to my Dad who was always working hard,” Scott said. “He was always fixing things that needed to be repaired. I also look up to the drill instructors in the Marine Corps.”

Scott’s most memorable vacation spot is none other than Hawaii. “I’ve been there twice for two very special occasions,” Scott shared.
