Since joining Mar-Bal in 1992, Scott Balogh has been building Mar-Bal, Inc. into a larger, more integrated and global company. This ambition will continue to be achieved through the company’s Strategic Plan, which has integrated industry talent and has strengthened core competencies and capabilities with investments, technology and innovation.

Scott, a native of Cleveland, OH is an entrepreneur and an industry leader with a proven record of product development, driving change and delivering continuous process improvement. Scott has been President and Chief Executive Officer since July 1998.

With Scott’s leadership, the company opened an R&D Technical Center in 2007 and expanded globally with the opening of a sales office in Shanghai, China in 2012. Today, Mar-Bal, Inc. is one of the top thermoset injection molding manufacturers in the United States, with three manufacturing facilities employing over 500 people.

Scott serves on the boards of Flambeau Inc., and the Ohio Manufacturers Association (OMA). He has been a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Cleveland Chapter since 2004 and has served as chairman of the YPO Plastics Network since 2010.

In 2013, Scott was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Northern Ohio area, this was the third time in four years that Scott has been recognized as a finalist for the award.

Prior to joining Mar-Bal, Scott was a successful National Sales Manager for the IBM Corporation for over 8 years.

Scott attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration and Economics.

Jim Wojtila joined Mar-Bal, Inc. in August 2011 as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) responsible for the company’s financial reporting, asset management and economic strategy. In addition to leading the Finance Department, Jim also oversees the Human Resources, IT, Accounting and Customer Service teams as well.

Jim has brought best business practices to Mar-Bal implementing a number of process improvements in his areas of responsibility including an innovative forecasting tool that has enabled productivity improvements at the three manufacturing plant locations.   Jim has led the due diligence process for Mar-Bal’s recent acquisitions and played an integral role in the opening of our China sales office.   Jim’s financial strategic vision has readied Mar-Bal for future growth and expansion.

Recognized for his professional contributions and accomplishments, Jim was selected as a Finalist for CFO of the Year by Crain’s Magazine in 2013. Crain’s honors Northeast Ohio’s top fiscal officers for outstanding financial leadership, asset management and strategic vision.

Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and has 30 years of experience in Accounting and Finance.   Prior to joining Mar-Bal, he served as the CFO for Aclara RF Systems, Inc. and Coe Manufacturing Company.

Jim has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from John Carroll University.


Vince Profeta Professional Photo April 2012Vince Profeta, Senior Vice-President – Engineering and Operations

Vince serves as the Senior Vice-President of Engineering and Operations where he is tasked with driving integration and collaboration between our manufacturing and engineering teams. Prior to this, his role as Vice-President of Product Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies encompassed our core competencies in both product engineering and advanced manufacturing functions to continue to balance the voice of the process with the voice of the customer. Combining our engineering capabilities in product design, program management, proprietary products, and our advanced manufacturing team under Vince’s leadership strengthened our launch capabilities and enabled us to be the low cost producer in our industry. Prior to his promotion in August 2015 to this technology leadership position, Vince served as the Director of Operations and his accomplishments in deploying advanced technologies in our plants resulted in world class quality and automation implementation.

Since joining Mar-Bal in April 2012 (see more), Vince has utilized his Program Management and Engineering successes within the thermoset composites industry by providing manufacturing and operational leadership and adding value for key OEM partners and customers.

Prior to Mar-Bal, Vince had over twenty years of Engineering and Program Management experience at Ferro Corporation, Premix, Inc. and Danaher Corporation.  While at Ferro, Vince served as both the North American Product Manager and North American Sales Manager for the plastics division. During his tenure at Premix, Inc., Vince led product development teams that revolutionized the use of composites in under-the-hood applications for the Automotive and Heavy Truck market.

Vince holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University.


Larry Landis, Senior Vice President, Technology

Larry Landis is a graduate of Kent State University with a BS in Chemistry and has a background and passion for materials engineering. In addition, Larry spent 2 years in Graduate School at Kent State working on Liquid Crystal Polymers.

Larry joined Mar-Bal in July 2018. Since 2005 he was with IDI where he held the position of Directory of Technology and Quality. From 1991 – 2005, he was a member of the Premix, Inc. materials engineering team.

Larry brings an innovative mindset to Mar-Bal that leads us in growing and expanding into new industries through new product development. His industry knowledge assists us in our core markets and legacy applications to optimize existing materials, and develop new solutions for composites. His contributions to Altraset Composite Technologies will propel us to be the premier BMC innovation leader and embrace our One Source Solution approach to satisfying customers.


Bruce Acord – Vice President of Sales, Engineered Products 

Bruce joined Mar-Bal, Inc. in May 2011 as a Market Development Manager responsible for driving customer-centric solutions in the Appliance market with key OEM accounts.  In January 2017, Bruce was promoted to the role of Industry Director responsible for the sales team in the Appliance, Automotive and Heavy Truck markets for custom molding while increasing Mar-Bal’s specification position for BMC material compound with new markets and new customers. In August 2019, Bruce accepted the position of Vice-President of Engineered Products.  Bruce oversees all of Mar-Bals’ custom molded product line serving the primary industries of Appliance, Automotive, Electrical, and Heavy Truck in addition to providing vision and leadership to new product development and new market opportunities

Bruce has over 25 years of experience in the composites and polymer industry providing project management leadership for innovation and replacing traditional engineering materials with thermoset composites.  Prior to joining Mar-Bal, Bruce worked for Premix, Inc., a compounder and molder of BMC Thermoset Composites and the Teknor Apex Company.  During his ten years at Premix, Bruce was instrumental at establishing innovative platforms and solutions with under-the-hood (UTH) applications in the automotive industry.

Bruce is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Business Management and resides in the Chicago area.


Anthony Lignetta – Director, Proprietary Products

Anthony joined Mar-Bal, Inc. in January 2017 as a New Business Development Manager responsible for growing Mar-Bal’s proprietary products and has had increasing responsibilities since joining.  Recently, Anthony was promoted to the role of Director, Proprietary Products tasked with increasing the growth and success of Mar-Bal’s proprietary products, Standoff Insulators, Fire Resistant Wastebaskets and our Truncated Dome Detectable Warning line.  In addition, he is responsible for New Business Development and Innovation within new markets.

Prior to joining Mar-Bal, Anthony served as Director of Sales for Haysite Reinforced Plastics fulfilling a similar role he initially held with Mar-Bal before his promotion. Throughout his career Anthony has displayed excellent leadership qualities while compounding his industry knowledge, both of which have made him an invaluable asset.

Anthony holds an MBA in Systems Management from Lake Erie College and a BA in Management from Hiram College.
